Welcome, welcome in a world of violence, a world of anger, the world of the French combo of Brutal Death Metal, Imperial Sodomy. Imperial Sodomy, what a "special" [and funny] name for a band, but after all why not? Today we will avoid to talk about the signification of this name, not it certainly better to only talk about the music of this excellent combo made in steel, anger and violence...
It's not really easy in my opinion to do Brutal Death Metal. Well? in fact yeah it can be maybe easy to do this kind of music but 90% of the time the result is just noise and at the end a big pile of shit. In that case, understand that we must congratulate the few bands who are able to do good songs, good albums, maybe brutal but however interesting, in two words, good music.
And that's the case, of Imperial Sodomy, this band rock yes, and the first thing which will catch you in this "Demolished" is certainly the great musical level of this guys. Imperial Sodomy is damn impressive, the voice of the singer is really good, the guitarists are able to do more than impressive solo [in addition of the excellent guitars riffs] and, damn the drummer of is certainly born with 4 or even 6 arms? Really this guy is incredible, it's really hard to find such drummers everyday.
And what about the songs of the album? Well all the songs are really well done, hyper mega aggressive but on the other hand the musical structure of each songs is really good, the songs are catchy and very technical even if all is I say it again, very brutal. But really the songs don't suffer of any problems of structure, all is very professional, you could find a lot of breaks but it's never dislocated?
The only problem for me in fact comes from the lyrics, ok we all know that the lyrics with this band are not the cleverest of all the metal style, but when I see the work on the music, I just find it sad that the lyrics of the band aren't of the same level. To put anger into lyrics only to put anger, well I can't see and understand why?
But don't worry this is certainly the only problem with this album, the production is good, and at the end this album is a must have for the fans of the Brutal Death Metal scene. It's really more than promising for a young band really?
"Demolished" is a first impressive album for this promising band. Of course this music is not for all the people, but curiously it's catchy, and if the fans of Brutal Death will certainly be dazzle of it, I'm sure that some others Metalheads which listen to some Metal style a "bit" more cool, could like it too?
A really good album, a must have for the fans of Brutal Death Metal.
