Drowned In Blood is a particularly "new" band from Mexico (created in 2003) after 2 years of hard work and struggles in the metal scene they finally released, with the great American Line Productions, their debut album called "The Warfare Continues", a brutal record filled with violent riffs, shocking Growls and good music in general.
The first track is "Warfare Graves", this song begins with a really interesting intro (Taken from "The Thin Red Line") and then after some seconds (0:46 to be precise) the music appears blasting your speakers, the main riff is actually very catchy and the bridges are spectacular, the Drumming in this track is very good to be honest, it has some twists and changes and of course those fast as hell poundings we all love; the vocal work is astonishing, yes, incredibly brutal growls as I already wrote, but still we can understand what that guy is singing (very good thing indeed).
The best track in this album is "Born To Kill", this song has the best riffs I've heard in a long time, catchy and aggressive at the same time, still we can hear that incredibly fast drumming, but this time the drummer makes a lot of amazing irregular strikes, some awesome alterations and unbelievable double-bass beats. We can also hear the great talent of the Bass player with a short yet fine bass solo (3:41), so I'm sure every Death Metal fan will worship this track not only for the brutality but also due to the intricacy of this tune.
This album also features a very good concept, "War", all the lyrics are about battles, enemies, killings, etc? something like Bolt Thrower, and of course the artwork is all about the same matter(The Cover is amazing indeed). In the end "The Warfare Continues" is a very good album for the lovers of Straight Death Metal, my only complain is that there is not a single guitar solo in this album, we all know that difficult or at least long guitar leads bring a more polished and a more mature sound to the band, but other than that the album is amazing, even the production is great (Every instrument sounds very loud and crystal clear), so I Recommend this album for sure.
