The winner of "Most Undecipherable Band Logo" arrives to Metal Storm
Sycronomica is a Black Metal band, but in difference from the other zillion Black Metal bands in the world, they do not praise Satanism, but go against it. Although their lyrics don't demonstrate this, I got this info from several sites, so I assume it must be reliable.
The band has been around for a while now, it was formed back in 1996 and just now after almost ten years, they release their first full-length album, via Black Attakk Records.
The band relies heavily on the symphonics of the keyboards, giving certain atmosphere to the music, this makes the songs sound familiar, maybe too familiar I might add. Comparing the band with Dimmu Borgir wouldn't be a mistake, although Sycronomica isn't a copycat of the aftermentioned band.
To be sincere with all of you, I found this record boring and quite mediocre, while some tracks stand off the crowd, the rest of the album is just too damn typical! "Creations Of Mine" and "In Silence I Die" are good examples of what the band can achieve if they try really hard.
The record is not bad at all, is just late, because the music these guys are playing has already been played before by many other bands. Definitively not a groundbreaking album and it sure will pass unnoticed among the Metal community. I wonder if bands release albums just to say 20 years from now "back in 2004, I released an album with a band" or they release stuff to they change some thing in the scene, because Sycronomica doesn't bring anything new in the table.
So it's up to you if you're going to buy this album. The only advice I can give is, when you go to the record store, just ask to the clerk for the album, don't you go searching for it in the Metal section, chances are that you'll se the album but you won't recognize the word "Sycronomica" in the band logo.
