Boomerang comes from Germany and this band uses to play a classic Heavy "middle tempo" Metal. "Balance Of Hate" is actually the second CD of the combo when "Weaveworld" recorded in 2002 was the first release of the band. The new album is an interesting release especially if you're bored by this Power Metal trend, here we have true Heavy Metal?
Oki with this "Balance Of Hate" Bommerang is not the master of the originality, but as you know that's not so easy to produce something really original nowadays, then if at least this is something that's a synonym of quality that's already a good thing. This album is not bad at all, we have all the ingredients of the recipe that we need to do a nice album of Heavy Metal. Powerful and aggressive riffs, super solos and excellent (and really present) bass-lines with in addition some really nice drums. The melodies are good and sound a bit "old school" but however sometime it's a bit unequal, some songs are better than some others but in general that's ok.
Actually the problem of the album is the sound of the recording, that's an auto-production then of course I understand but that's not perfect and the good tracks of the album really suffer of it. I really hope that the band will have the luck to record an album with a good professional studio it could be surprising.
"Balance Of Hate" is a good album of Heavy but don't expect a revolution too, that's classic but well done at least. With some better means of recording I really think, really, that this band will be able to do a nice road in the Heavy Metal scene. Labels and producers that's up to you guys but you should have a look on them.
