If I have to choose a Melodic Hard Rock combo that I will always enjoy, no doubt that it will be Shakra. Why? Well first because these guys from Switzerland know how to produce the perfect melodies but also because album after album I'm never disappointed. Yes of course they don't take a lot of risks but their songs are so catchy that I forget every time this little problem. Rock 'n' Roll!!!
You'll believe that I'm definitely addicted by this album, well not exactly but the melodies are so catchy and dancing, the hoarse vocals of Mark Fox is so efficient that is impossible (expect maybe if you live in a cemetery with your "krieg" friends) to hate this album. Maybe that it won't be something for you of course, but one can't say that this is a bad release with bad songs, at the opposite?
I remember that "Rising" the precedent album was already a good musical performance but one more time with Shakra we're not disapointed. I don't know why but sometime I need to listen to this kind of music with this good mood attitude, with perfect catchy choruses that you will sing all the day, something in the vein of melodic Hard Rock killers that are With Lion, Bon Jovi or Gotthard actually. There are a lot of potential hits on the album and I'm quite sure that it should "rock" live. "Fall" is a good album, then if you like this kind of music you can't miss it.
Shakra is now signed on the big label AFM Records then let's hope that it will help the guys to find a good success elsewhere than in Europe, they deserve it. Oki "Fall" is not something certainly new and surprising but damn that's really efficient and it's good to find sometime this Hard Rock 80's 90 spirit. This is a must for the fans of melodic hard rock.
