Version 3.0: bugs and glitches detected. Updates needed.

I knew this band because I got their previous album "Supernova" which was a good one, Gothic Metal with female vocals and electronic elements. Now I got this "Version 3.0" and as the title hints, the band has become more electronic, leaving behind their Gothic influences.

Electronics aren't bad, I don't know why people scares the shit out when listens this word, Metal per se is an eclectic genre, and if it has been mixed with Folk, Ambient, Classical Music, Jazz, Rap and many others, why not a little bit of Electronics, it might worth the try right?

Sadly, here the try wasn't worth it. Desdemona music has become uninspired and quite cold. They exceeded the use of Electronics and left Metal in a very dark corner, creating a album filled with samples, bleeps and beeps and a LOT of repetition.

While the album is not horrible, it's a step back in their evolution as a band. Involution if you want to call it that way. The Electro-Industrial sections of the songs sound too mathematical at times and there's only few tracks that save this album from total boredom, like "Brumgia", "Eternal Flame" and "No More Lies", but the rest, without being awful tracks are totally fillers.

Is a shame that such a promising band decided to take a different a musical direction (which is not bad). The bad thing came when they overdid their sound, thus creating a interesting album at first sight, but after several spins you'll agree with me that this album is boring at times.
