If you like Doom Metal and are looking for something a bit original, I think that I found something for you. Mythological Cold Towers comes from Brazil and if they were specialized in classic Doom Metal in the past, they play now a really original Epic Doom that it is not so easy to find everyday. Is it intriguing for you? Hum, I think that you should have a look on this review?

Definitely, this album is not common and I'm happy to see that some bands are still able to release albums that can surprise you. If at the first listening I was a bit disturbed by the really theatrical clean vocals of the singer (that's a matter of taste you'll love it or hate it) I must confess that after some spins I started to enjoy this album.

The songs are long yes, but on the other hand they're all really varied and not linear. When you'll listen to this album you'll probably have the feeling to listen to something symphonic but also really dark, strong, slow and heavy? that's Doom Metal after all. But there is something more with this album, the Epic spirit. I don't know how to explain it, that's not really easy but there is something transcendental with their music. If you're a fan of epic battles and all this kind of things you'll understand what I mean at the first second of the album and believe me it sounds great.

There are however some little problems. The production and the recording aren't perfect sometime, and also I find that the theatrical aspects can be a bit boring too but on this point, as I said just before, it's above all a matter of taste.

This album is really surprising and really catchy and original as hell (even if it can be a bit disturbing for the true fans of Doom Metal). I hope that "The Vanished Pantheon" will find a well-deserved success and you'll see, people will talk about this album and about this band?
