Motorjesus comes from Germany and plays a good old Hard FM. "Deathrider" is the second album of the band and if you're a nostalgic of the beginning of the 90's, this release will probably be for you. I don't say that "Deathrider" is revolutionary evidently, but well it's good to listen to this release and there are some good things in this album?
Well on a side, "Deathrider" is a real Hard FM album. I mean that all the songs are extremely commercial, with nice "rock" vocals, with catchy (and easy) choruses and melodies but it's not displeasing to listen to this album. The songs are good in general, the Hard Rock spirit in the compositions is really cool and after all the musicians seem to be more than ok. The singer for example has a nice hoarse Rock voice that fits perfectly with the music.
But on the other hand, all that is extremely easy. I mean that it can sound good, there is also nothing really new in "Deathrider" and, let's be honest for two minutes, they didn't do a big work on the compositions which are extremely basic. But one more time I must say that it works, this mix between Heavy metal (with some riffs a la Maiden) and Hard Rock is extremely pleasant. In two words, if you don't want something really serious, if you don't want to listen to some complex and "intellectual" music you'll probably like the new album of Motorjesus.
I don't say that "Deathrider" is the best album of the year but if you like good catchy melodic Heavy, if you still love Hard Rock and cannot be bored by this music, I really think that you should try "Deathrider" because in this musical category, even if it's not really surprising, this is full of good things. Nothing new with Motorjesus but be sure that you'll spend a good moment when you'll listen to this album.
