If I have to be honest I must tell you that I'm not really into French Hardcore. I'm not allergic to all these bands, Psykup, Watcha, Lofofora? but in general their music is just so-so for me, not horrible but not catchy too. Akirïse is a newcomer in this category and despite the fact that they play music that I don't really like in general I cannot deny that they're not too bad. Sure it's something for the fans of the genre only but if you like it then you'll like "Brouiller L' Ecoute".

"Brouiller L' Ecoute" is a good crossover of a lot of different genres. The sound can be Hardcore but it can be alternative too and the vocals can be really aggressive (some kind of screaming) like a bit HipHop. Definitely this is not something for all the basic Metalheads who don't like the Nu Metal scene and I really think that they don't have to read this review anymore. I doubt that you'll like this release, especially if you don't understand French. Because the lyrics are in French and these really engaged lyrics are not so bad even if on a side it's always the same kind of topics that we have with all these bands (problems in France etc) and I can understand that some people will be bored by it too when some other will simply love it, it's just a matter of opinion and that's the problem of political lyrics?

But the music of Akirïse is full of energy and I like the fact that the songs are crazy in general. The bass is strong, don't expect any solo here of course but the riffs are heavy and catchy and since that the songs go in a lot of different directions it's not so bad in the end. Plus for an auto-production, the production is really good and the recording was well done. No really in the genre "Brouiller L' Ecoute" is a really good CD but definitely this is only something for the people who use to listen to such music, the other ones will hate it unfortunately.

"Brouiller L' Ecoute" is a good first album. I cannot say that I will listen to it a lot simply because I'm not a fan of such music in general and this album will not be the key which will open my mind to this musical genre. On the other hand if you like such music and if you understand French it will be ok, "Brouiller L' Ecoute" is a solid album in the genre.
