When someone talks about Gothenburg, everybody tend to think about In Flames, Dark Tranquility and all the other bands which play Swedish Death Metal. But please don't do this mistake because the Metal scene here is really active and we can easily find other great different bands like Freak Kitchen, Hammerfall among a ton of other ones? Today I will introduce you a new band from the city and as you can guess, they're not a new In Flames and play something totally different! Urbandux mixes with a lot of class, Pop, Hard Rock, Metal and Prog and believe me this is really good! No doubt that "The Aftermath" is a really cool discovery, so have a look at it and I'm sure that you'll be nicely surprised!

"The Aftermath" is a real example of a catchy album. The thirteen songs of the release are all extremely cool with a nice melody which will stay in your head for a long time. Sure, Urbandux is a bit "pop" in the genre and the voice of DemonZ is really "radio" if I can use this word but don't misunderstand me, this release is all but easy and full of real progressive structures. I really like "The Aftermath" because there are a ton of different influences in it. Some songs can be Grunge, some others are not so far away of Incubus (the American Rock band), when finally some others are pure Metal. There is always some kind of deep melodies in each song, the guitarist is a killer with his own personal sound and his guitar soli are complex and well done. But the strong point of "The Aftermath" is its groove! This album is groovy as hell and all the songs are potential hits that a lot of people who like Metal or just Rock will probably enjoy a lot. Sure "The Aftermath" is a bit commercial and not elitist but first I just don't care and second it's good to listen to easy of access albums sometime, especially when the compositors are hit machines!

The production of "The Aftermath" is perfect and the digipack is nice. The performance of the musicians is great and one more time I have to congratulate DemonZ for his really nice voice full of groove which can even be funky sometime, this is really pleasant and different of what we can listen to everyday in the Metal scene. Honestly it's hard to find any bad points in this album, ok Urbandux is maybe not doing a pure revolution here but their music which is a great crossover between Metal and Rock is good and fresh. Don't expect anything violent on "The Aftermath" but if you like good Rock this is a must believe me!

I don't know if the music of Urbandux will be able to cross the Swedish frontiers but I hope that they will have the chance to find some fans all around the world. "The Aftermath" is a great album really well played and extremely enjoyable. If you're looking for direct and effective beautiful music, have a look at this release and I'm sure that you'll fall in love with Urbandux. I won't stop to listen to this release tomorrow, and I'm already waiting for the next step of Urbandux's story!

Nice description. Though I wonder a thing that is this one music similar to Ghost Circus, which is also a progressive rock/ hard rock band ?
