I've had a long hesitation before I bought the first album of this (in my opinion of course, but it seems nobody else knows them) very good band. What made me hesitate is the appalling artwork, as well on the cover as in the booklet, it looks like a compilation of bad taste. But I appreciated the following two albums of this English band, so I decided to get over my repulsion and I bought it, hoping that the music would be better than the rest.

Actually, the music is better. But it's not at all the amazing debut I was looking forward to. Usually, the debut album of a good band is either amazing -for a lot of bands- or pathetic -Symphony X for example. For Kill II This, it is just not interesting. There are the bases of the second album, Deviate, with electronic parts, opera vocals, acoustic or indus breaks and massive riffs, but it just doesnt' work. Boredom quickly gains ground, and after three songs you hear the music without listening to it, I've never managed to be attentive to Another Cross II Bare till the end, and yet I've had this album for five years and I've tried it a lot.

Besides the below average quality of the music, the production is a bit weak, it doesn't retranscribe the power this music needs. But the main flaw is in the vocals: how come somebody can be out of tune on a whole album and not even notice it? And have the courage to let it be released, unashamed and so proud that he has his name written in the booklet? Mr Nick Arlea, I'm really glad I've never heard of you anymore, because you really didn't help your band at this time... Honestly only the religion-based lyrics sound interesting to me, because yes they deal with religion, but not in a dumbass way such as 'Burn all Christians and hail satan'. Here, reflections back opinions up.

Anyway, to anybody who would like to discover this great and underrated English band, I can only advise not to begin with Another Cross II Bare. The other albums are much more worth your money than this one. Plain boring.

Highlights: dunno. no highlights. boring. booh!
