After the successful releases of ''Brazilian Blitzkrieg Blasphemies'' and ''Angelwhore'' on Brazilian lands, Mutilation Records decided to offer another work from the German group in 2007. 666 Satan's Soldiers Syndicate received extraordinary response from Brazilian public once again, and put Desaster back in evidence on the metal scene for a little more time.

Regardless the well-acceptance of the album, it is clear that it is destined to fans of the genre, since this formula was already used previously, and better. It is evident that the rule here is the good old Black/Thrash Metal, harsh, direct, with themes based on Satanism, well exploited by those who have worked with it for several years.

That being said, after the brief intro, the album presents a good sequence of good songs: ''Angel Extermination'', ''Razor Ritual'', ''Fate Forever Flesh'' and especially ''Tyrannizer'', an amazing hybrid of technique and feeling. The rest of the songs just follows the formula and are there just to increase the duration of the disc. Most of the tracks feature good tempo change, always heavily presented, typical thrash with hints of black metal on the theme that eventually reflects on the music.

Something that really caught my attention about this album were the guest musicians, very well chosen. ''Proscriptor McGovern'' from Absu, Alan ''Nemtheanga'' Averill from Primordial, and Ashmedi from Melechesh. Which one with a very special participation on the album, especially Proscriptor in ''Tyrannizer''. The presence of these guys was a great addition for the quality of the album.

As the production and performance are very good, you cannot say the same about the lyrics and originality. Lack of originality is easily explained by the loyalty to the roots of the genre being a characteristic of the band. The lyrics, as expected, totally focused on the old Satanic blasphemy, presenting torture, war and burning flesh, are much worse compared to some of their older works (specially ''Tyrants Of The Netherworld'', in which the lyrics could be read without falling asleep).

In the end, the lack of originality and the limited number of highlights may bother someone, but the album is good enough for any fan of the genre appreciate. For the ones who are not into Thrash/Black there are better thing to listen, since this one may get boring after some time.
