You know those after school specials where the innocent book-club daughter - much to the displeasure of her family - dates the bad ass kid with the mullet and a dirtbike? I'm almost 100% sure that kid grew up to have a hand in the writing of Bullet For My Generation. By merely looking at the songs with titles such as "This Is My Ring" and "Wild 'N' Alone" it's easy to tell this is up there in the Chrome Division region for the over-the-top cartoon super masculinity. Luckily, the music kicks a lot of ass, and fortunately for the listener it's impossible to tell what this slurring bastard is specifically yelling about.

But it's metal, and if my reviews were to be judged on lyrics, nearly every review would have a 1/10 rating slapped on it and we'd be done. You can go ahead and guess what type of music fits this goofy imagery, and you would probably be right. It's a punked out Motörhead sound. Nothing new here, it's all about solid riffing, gravelly vocals, and some loud catchy chorus'. Despite not being ground breaking in the slightest, Dustineyes play this music flawlessly. It sounds genuine, not just a bunch of big-shots paying tribute to old school rock n roll, but a band that understands that the rougher edges are what made this music powerful in the first place.

Definitely a cool experience for the punk appreciators out there, maybe even the glam/sleaze rock crowd that are into aggressive rock n roll. Prog fans and the like will most likely turn their noses up at such shallow music (that goes hand-in-hand with being a prog fan, though). This is metal in it's basic state - hedonistic, blunt, and aggressive.
