Grave Digger Albums Ranked

Thumbs up: +1
One of the long time running german bands that started off quite shaky before releasing a string of excellent anthem packed albums, to only fall away into a quite shaky last years. That's too bad but when they were at their peak, very few bands could touch them. Here's my take on their entire discography

Holy sh..., 20 albums!
Have I listened to all of them, most probably not. Do I want to do that, I doubt that.
Thus I cannot really comment much on this list.
But what I do want to say is two things:
1. Heart of Darkness on top, yes, title track is excellent,
2. Symphony of Death lower half, noooo way, that is a really good album, I like it
Then there is the Reaper, also good, but that is basically their essential albums that I do remember from the top of my head right now.
No need to add: I have been digging their albums a bit back in the 90s, but never really came back to them thereafter.

Yes sir, probably their best song!

Apart from the title track and Back to the Roots (both excellent) I don't really find the other songs enough intresting to put it higher. It's a good listen but no where near among their best work.

If your unfamiliar with The Grave Digger you should give it a shot. It's their heaviest and darkest album and really stands out as one of my favourite "edgar allan poe-tributes". Rheingold is also a no-brainer for anyone who loves good riffing, it's sad Manni Schmidt gave up on this style of music as both in Rage and Grave Digger he was part of writing their best material.
