2005 was a fantastic year, especially for Progressive metal one of the best in my opinion, a lot of classics came out that year and power metal also had an amazing year the 2000's was the golden age of power metal. My favorite non metal albums of 2005 1. Demon Days By Gorillaz (Art Pop, Trip Hop)  2. Illinois By Sufjan Stevens (Chamber Pop, Singer-Songwriter)  3. The Woods By Sleater-Kinney (Indie Rock)  4. Frances the Mute By The Mars Volta (Progressive Rock, Experimental Rock)  5. The Minstrel Show By Little Brother (Conscious Hip Hop, Southern Hip Hop)  My favorite movie from 2005
