A little list series where I list my top 20 favorite metal albums every year starting from the year I was born in.

2020 was something, obviously a lot of horrible shit that happened, but at least there was some great metal that carried me throughout that bleak year, especially in Black metal and Gothic metal witch was fitting.

This is the last list of this series, since I already made a list of my favorite albums of 2021 last year. It was fun doing this journey and going through old memories and revisiting classics, thanks for reading and sharing your favorites and lists, metal for life 🤘🎸.

2019 was solid year to end the decade with great releases in Progressive and black metal, doom metal had a strong showing and I finally found a deathcore band that I care about, the 2010's may not have been the most influential decade in metal but it did had a punch of great releases, that might be considered classics down the line, time will tell.

2017 was an interesting year, overall a solid year but the most notable thing about it the nostalgia sound, many new and old bands reuniting to old sounds but in a new way, Thrash metal had a pretty solid year same with death metal and doom, black metal was in its peak with the ambient mix sound and Progressive metal had a solid showing along with power metal.
