2000 was a pretty solid year especially for progressive metal, Symphonic metal and power metal, also pretty good year for death metal. This also was the year I started to listen to metal music thanks to those iconic linkin park singles (RIP Chester Bennington).

A decent year for metal, not much more. Sandwiched between much better years. I thus only have a couple of highlights worth mentioning -- upper 7s included.

Back at that time I was convinced metal was dead and that I would never return to its remains from the 80s and 90s.
What a dumbass I was.

Thumbs up for Awaking the Centuries on top of your list, such a great album.
