After a brilliant genre named Death Metal has seen its debut in the late 80's early 90's with highly acknowledged acts such as Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Immolation, etc, you might ask yourself; "what's the next big thing for such extreme and brutal music"? Well, to start off the 21st Century, the answer is loud and clear. Out of Europe emerges a four piece of uncompromising Death Metal musicians who have taken the name of Decapitated. The members of the band were still in their teens when they released their debut album 'Winds Of Creation' and so no one was expecting anything great due to their young age...they were left dumbstruck. The debut of this Polish group is considered as one of the best albums of the genre to this day, this being completely understandable. 'Winds Of Creation' is indeed one hell of a recording, screaming DEATH METAL to any fan out there.

Good point... They will never top winds of creation... IMO they have lost too many of the original members which made them great in the first place (under tragic circumstances) Its safe to say they will never be as good as they were.

The Slayer cover is my most favorite cover of a metal song by a metal band ever! Neckbreaker.

"The Quaker"
It gets a bit monotonous - but it's damn enjoyable. Prolly my fav european old school death metal record right now. Better than Vader's classics

Decent album, considering it was made by teenagers, but very monotonous, mediocre, and mundane over all. I bought this album because of all the hysteria around it and then traded it in later because it truly is boring compared to all the other tech death albums I own. I actually prefer their later work, the only album I still own by them is "Carnival is Forever".

Absolutely fantastic album that turns 23 today. Someone should staff pick this. Crazy a bunch of kids who weren't old enough to drive a car or sign a document wrote this.

Great production and I really love the guitar tone, it sounds very crisp, but not over produced.

Finally got around to listening to it. Now I get why their later work gets so much shit. It's like two completely different bands. Riffage, drumming, energy. Insanely good.
