For the effort.
Thanks.
And Mr. Goatse.cx, I am deeply sorry that you found something to your inconvenience. Please try refreshing the page, it might show up the results you have expected. If it does not work, you can always contact me at my special hot number: 0302131231. Other than pancakes and hot tranny sex, you might as well find the way to suggest what you have exactly meant, as it is not nearly as messed up as this paragraph of nonsense. |

It's not that I tasted them from 1-2 spins, but it means that from 1-2 spins you can get the general taste without having to replay over and over. |

We kinda agree in our lists in a couple of albums.
One example were we don't would be Xandria, those guys don't deserve this much praise for copying old-Nightwish 15 years later |

I agree that they sound like Nightwish, but it's not copying if you ask me. They pretty much just follow the same style but have new riffs and different offerings. Besides, for whatever it is, it's a good album, sticks in mind and has good instrumentation. |

| Man get rid of "spins to taste" ! it's not like we are all the same here . |

That's his personal recommendation. Some will only need one listen while he needs five or vice-versa.
Literally everything about these kinds of lists is subjective. Don't take it too seriously. |

Thanks for clarifying it, Troy. I think, too, that this is subjective after all. But I'm trying to be objective by trying all styles. Ypres marks my first true entry into modern doom (I don't count STS doom..) and I'm listening to albums otherwise I'd never be interested in. (Think Alcest and Naglfar)
As finally about the count of spins, it's just an approximation to the reader about if he had listened to the album but perhaps need more spins to find the true gem inside. Also, it helps someone browsing through the list get something near his taste; even if it's not exactly near the same as mine. To me, I'd love it if some list describes albums that need only one listen to get into and get the gist of, as I tend to look for speed and catchy riffing most of all in an album. However, this standard and others are being lowered for this list.
A bit long, but I hope everything's clarified. |

Written by Iron Nostarion on 02.04.2012 at 18:16 But I'm trying to be objective by trying all styles.
That's just called being open-minded. And it's great that you're expanding your musical horizons.
However, it's still subjective because it's your opinion. My list last year even included some prog. But at the end of the day these things are all ranked according to your personal taste; therefore, it's subjective. Most subjective things contain bits and pieces of objectivity, but on the whole these things still pass as personal opinion.
Keep up the good work by the way. It's always nice to see some more eclectic lists by people who normally wouldn't delve into certain styles of music. |

Aha. Right, there's a difference between open-mindedness and objectivity, thanks for reminding me. xD
Thanks, by the way. Motivation is the only way I'd see as further purpose to continue building this list. |

Agreed. Tried them out and couldn't get through two songs! And I dig Nightwish and Delain. |

Had a little rough time in getting new 2012 albums, but I see a lot of stuff has been released that is not included. List out of date maybe, but I will update it soon enough. |
