First listen, not really blown away by most of it, but Apex Of Disdain is almost worth the price of admission alone for me.

First listen, not really blown away by most of it, but Apex Of Disdain is almost worth the price of admission alone for me.

Yeah, that's the first one that jumped out for me as well. That and one of the early songs, I think it was Calcified. Probably won't be revisiting this too much apart from a handful of songs, although I enjoyed it slightly more than Dormant Heart.

First time with this band. Quite good.

First listen wasn't blown away. Second, third, fourth listen...was blown away. What an album!

By far their shortest album and I think this the best choice. More straightforward, more to the point. I think their music isn't progressive enough to deliver 80 minutes albums without fillers.

Still a bit early but this is melodeath album of the year this far.
Although "melodeath" doesn't sit well with me when describing this band because of the lack of keyboards.

Any thoughts?

P.S. BTW, has anyone else noticed how sick the riffs are???

Why yes, the riffage is entirely contaminated by disease.

Quite forgetful. Their shortest full-length, their softest, their most boring, not even in E standard, full of fillers. Times are fucking everyone up.

Much better than the previous one. Don't mention innovation，I just enjoy it.

Amazing, ROTY in February

Ok, you may warm up with album title and "Shield" before you get to exercise a lot on new Sylosis.

For me, it's a great record.

Pretty good melodeath with killer riffs. Too bad they aren't anything too original or new these days, otherwise this stuff could be even more awesome. Very enjoyable regardless.

I really love that record so far. As people said ... sick riffs everywhere.

I prefer the word 'tufff'

I'm hidden away in that video somewhere, was a great show

On first listen, it had some pretty impressive moments and some metalcore-ish moments that I couldn't' shake.
More listens required.

Man, the title track absolutely slays

Still think it's a long way off of what they showed themselves capable of on EOTE/Monolith, but the fact that it's almost definintely my most played album released this year shows that even a disappointing Sylosis album draws me in like a moth to a flame.

I am holding out hope that they will do another EOTE someday. This is still enjoyable, but there is definite sameness to the songs that permeates throughout.

This is the type of album I don't understand.

I should love it, but it doesn't grab me in the least. It should be right down my alley, but something just isn't clicking.
