Absolute masterpiece - essence of all the qualities of prog metal. Incredible ideas, Buddy Lackey's work is just ... awesome !
I think this record pales in comparison to "Images And Words" only through the quality of sound ...

I can see..., No wonder you like Hammer of Misfortune so much, they're both play more "classical progressive" style. Images & Words is more heavy metal type of progressive metal, they're really different, not comparable.

I liked track 1, 3, 5, 6

Both albums are perfect, but I prefer A Social Grace because I don't like commercially motivated compromises.

As for Hammers Of Misfortune - this is the most undervalued prog metal band over the past 14 years.

Crazy riffing

I guess this is their most relevant album, which I have though never got into. I have always preferred The Bleeding.

I too probably haven't really gotten into it but I sure can appreciate the crazy amount of riffs in the album. I'll give The Bleeding a bleed later

Little bit short of a meisterpiece, the album has some good developments in songwriting while retaining the structures with choruses. I might appear a poser here commenting on a popular album, well I may lose my status but I'll risk it, this a good album and band.
