It's almost impossible to categorize this, I guess that's why I love it so much. The heartrending strings and the wind instruments fit perfectly well with the proffered musical boundlessness and for those who are allergic to the vocals, there's an alternative and full-blown instrumental/orchestral version of the entire album close at hand.
This is some pretty brilliant stuff, yet I'm pretty sure that it will not find too many fans here. The screamo label is simply too much of a stigma...

An excellent album indeed. Starvynth said everything I could have said about this album though. Emotional music that covers so much ground. It's basically Godspeed You! Black Emperor but with short songs and aggressive vocals which are not far away from the blackgaze type of vocals that kids enjoy anyway. So happy I discovered them thanks to the awards. Will give the instrumental/orchestral version a go now. I don't think I will enjoy it as much though. I feel this style is well balanced as it is.
