It´s hard to pick a favorite but for me it might also be the last track. They have that distinct old school BM sound and succeed in sounding fresh, really rare nowadays.

I gave the last song another go to see if I overlooked it when I gave the album a playthrough - I think this is just a case where I'm not going to understand the hype

"Masterpiece" is perhaps overselling it somewhat but it's a very good album.

In a saturated genre, this is black metal done right.

Bit overrated, but well executed BM album.

Awesome sound. Good production, good vocals and riffing. The guitar solos add a nice touch. Feels a lot like a less melodic Forterrese.

EDIT: Wow this is really fucking good.

Good production...

I love the production. That old school stripped down mechanically cold atmosphere combined with the modern density of properly mixed instrumentation. I think this one will fly under the radar because it doesn't do anything in an exceptional way, but it does a lot of things really well.

Yeah for sure. Not exceptional in any way, but very good in all corners. Similar to Mgla in that aspect. This has better production though.

Solid album though I will agree with some above that I don't understand the hype. About on par with the previous album.

Lucky is thee who had the foresight to buy this cracker on vinyl. It's already worth in excess of £70.

Good album overall. Awesome production and atmosphere. I find some of the tracks a bit too weak or not so inspired to keep interest to the fullest. 7.5

It's very impressive indeed, and very much reminds me of Sargeist. There's nothing inventive about this, it's just good old-school traditional black metal, raw, sinister, cold, furiously melodic, and hypnotic, which is the whole point and exactly the way it should be done. "Frigid And Spellbound", "Fair Lucifer, Sad Relic", and "Diabolic Immanence" are top quality tracks
