That is a pretty cool looking album cover, usually Darkthrone album covers are grim looking, I've not thought much to the later Darkthrone material, but hopefully I will like this one.

Yes Yes ! Forget the cover thing, this album Is kick ass guys. And that sound aaaaaaaargh. When i start playing the CD i was like what the hell ? It is someting with my system? After couple of seconds i get it.
This album has a soul. The last two albums was good dont get me wrong but this is kickaaaaas ! Great albums ladies and gentlemans. Bravo Bravo to this "gettingolderandbetter tards" Hail Fenriz and Nocturno Culto!

The shitty quality even helps the somewhat boring songwriting here. better than the last one, I guess

I never got bored of Darkthrone this fast.
I gave it a quick speed listen and its weak, slow paced bad intentionaly bad production recording. Vocals are anemic and what the hell are they smoked on that last track ?

I get that Fenriz is into a proto-doom demo scene stuff these days but man did they really had to imitate shitty early Black Sabbath cover bands?

And there it is folks, this is how Darkthrone died in my ears.

The Cover is a reproduction of a painting of British David A. Hardy's "Pluto and Charon". Hardy has a lot of this kind of science fiction pictures. I don't know if Psychoparadox is using another painture of the same artist or that is a kind of image inspired by Hardy.

I thought Old Star was bloody amazing. In my top 5 favourite releases from 2019.

This one has taken another left-turn sound wise and will take me a while to form a proper opinion.

Punk my raw ass, slow, doomy, heavy, blacky, all what in 80's we called metal, metal was one in many genres, we did liked all. same here, and also its garage recirdings whit modern touch, somehoiw I like new Darkthrone more as old!

This is kind of ridiculous now, 3 albums with pretty much the same cover! 😁

Listened once and already have half the riffs stuck in my head! Very memorable stuff. The consistency of these guys is incredible, even after constantly trying different ideas.

Reminds me of Celtic Frost. I kept half expecting Nocturno Culto to throw a couple of UGHs in there.

Lols, this really sounded like a heavy doom metal album. I mean just listen to the opening riff of hate cloak. Feels very Sabbathesque. I liked the album. Some of the riffs were tasty, even with bad production.

I've finally got round to listening to the entire album, and I must say I'm quite impressed, it's not at all what I was expecting, there is so many different styles being played, I'm getting punk, black, thrash and heavy metal vibes through out the album, and even getting doom vibes from the amazing guitar tone and riffs.

It's so hard to even begin to even categorise this, and it's hard to believe that this is the band that pioneered the second wave of black metal, and produced Transilvsnian Hunger.
