Dawn Of Ouroboros announced themselves as an act unbeholden to any one style in particular on their 2020 debut, The Art Of Morphology, a record that incorporated both elements of death and black into an unpredictable progressive metal framework. With Velvet Incandescence, they show no signs of regressing to a template.

I liked the debut but somehow I just forgot about it. After listening this I'm finding it hard to remember why I liked the first. It's not all that bad but I got bored pretty fast. Maybe I should just give this or debut another spin.

Once I listened debut, I forgot this band existing. I lile it mix calm softer parts whit extreme parts in the music. Enjoyable album.

Not a bad release, but nothing that special, it certainly has it's moments, but there are several dull sections too. Some of the lead guitar work is impressive, and although I'm not too fond of the harsh vocals, the female cleans do impress me.

Some good moments in this, especially female clean vocals. Really like Rise from Disillusion. Overall not something I’ll revisit much though.

I am a bit oversaturated by this style at the moment. Clearly this is not bad at all but it´s also a perfect example that growls combined with clean sung vocals and progressive songwriting does not necessarily mean an emotional rollercoaster. In fact this has no edges to my ears. It´s something that would fit nicely to a action scene of a darker netflix show.

I suppose Boxcar Willy did manage it in two words. It has some good sounds, but overall the songwriting isn't very engaging.
