Yearning is a Finnish gothic metal band that has not much to do with the gothic scene of this country. Maybe it is due to the personnality of Juhani Palomaki, who once more wrote the entire album, but Yearning sounds like Yearning, and that's that. Releasing a better album than the grandiloquent Frore Meadow seemed impossible, but here Evershade almost reaches perfection. Read more ›› |

I'm glad I discovered this band, since this album is amazing. Definitely my kind of music: a ton of variety, complex, and just plain awesome catchy songs.

Really good album. Hated the first song, but after that it picks up. Deathbearer is my favourite on this one.

I've decided that this is, in my opinion, the greatest gothic doom album. While Katatonia's consistency is truly impressive, they don't have an Evershade. This is a true classic that I believe will stand the test of time. The title track may be my favorite song of all time and is certainly a shining star for the genre.
