Purity is also a cover.

Clearly, she had no ideas, but probably had a commitment to her label to deliver something.

Anyways, it's Otep. Covers or not, it's going to be terrible.

I liked some of the riffs on this but that vocals is just nails on a chalkboard.

So better than KULT 45. Some tracks are good: Pet, Star
Shopping and Exit Wounds - which they suffer only of
lenght - Good 4 U, Purity; only California Girls it's a
little meh. The very big problem is the production

I find it almost equally as bad as both those releases, which I guess really says something. I had another spin though as I thought I was slightly harsh with a 3, but it's just as bad as I remembered.

I love Otep so much, however, I don't think Covers are her thing.
The best thing about her is her own lyrics and intellect and Musically she never got over Evil J's departure.
The production is better than the last album (Closer to Generation Doom) but it is wasted on covers.
It would probably be better if it was released as an EP or something.
Disappointing release...meh!

I remember seeing these guys live at Ozzfest in 2004 or 2005 and hating them back then lmao... so things haven't gotten any better?

I think doing a cover album is completely pointless unless you are going to bring your own unique flavor to the covers. In this case, I can say I at least respect Otep's ability to bring her unique brand to these covers. Definitely done in her style.

The Eminem cover actually sounded a little bit like him at certain parts and she actually copied his flow pretty well.

All of that being said: This album sounds awful. Not enjoyable to listen to at all. Okay I actually kind of liked the last track, Godslayer, but it's hardly even a song. It's more so a poetry reading with background music. I don't even know why I enjoyed it, but maybe just the dark imagery evoked in the words did the trick for me. Other than that, this was not a fun listen.

2nd worst album of 2023 just barely ahead of Acrania's Unbreakable Fury 2020 Re​-​Recording.
