Following 1994's stripped-down release Hate, Sarcófago released what would be their last full-length album, 1997's ironically titled The Worst.

Where do I begin? Okay, first off, they still have that annoying drum machine, but thankfully they finally learned how to program it, so it doesn't have the same three obnoxious patterns like in Hate. However, unlike in that album, The Worst doesn't try to be absolutely fast. It begins with a somewhat melodic acoustic/keyboard intro "The End", after that it advances into the title track "The Worst". From here you realize that the sound is probably the most death metal-oriented of all the Sarcófago albums. Decent track, but nothing great. Moving on, we are led to "Army of the Damned (The Prozac's Generation)" which is pretty much the same as "The Worst", only faster and with a boring solo.
