De Profundis is considered a classic by a large portion of death metal fans, and is undoubtedly a crowning jewel amongst the rest of the Vader discogrophy, although it's open to debate to whether this album is truly their best, with the other major contender being the album Litany.

Shame to admit(Im from Poland) but few minutes ago I hear this album first time. Remastered version with next covers album. Music on first part(De Profundis) is brutal but with thought. Very nice. Lyrics are too blasphemous for me.

The music on this album is pretty good. What drags it down is the awful fucking snare sound especially whenever there's blast beats.

It sounds like it was added in after the rest of the album was recorded.

Pretty meh album, to be honest, but then most of 90s Vader is pretty meh. 2000's Vader is where its at, from Litany on.

A snare a type of drum and a key component of a "drum kit" which is a musical instrument you hit with sticks to make a "beat."
