You are a Dissection fan? You simply love their stuff? You probably did not know it until reading these lines, but the band is alive and their new album, entitled Fallen Angel's Dominion, was released on June 2010 through Austrian label Napalm Records. Am I serious with such catcher? Certainely not and the joke is over now, but I can ensure you that the first lines above really could have been the case. To re-establish the truth, Fallen Angel's Dominion is the first full-length album from German metallers Thulcandra. The album was recorded at Woodshed Studios and was produced by V. Santura (Dark Fortress, Triptykon) and Steffen Kummerer (Thulcandra, Obscura) while the cover artwork was created by Kristian Wåhlin (At The Gates, Dark Funeral, Emperor and surprisingly Dissection).

The heirs to Dissection's throne Hmmm....maybe.

Not at all. This album is a very mediocre attempt at ripping off Dissection.

Imo, it doesn't even really sound like Dissection. Only as a very very watered down version. They try to sound like Dissection but fail miserably at it.
It's only vaguely reminiscent, not similar.

No need to loose your time with this if you know Sacramentum and Gates Of Ishtar.

With you on this one RK; I first heard Thulcandra before catching people comparing them to Dissection and all that came to mind was "these guys are like Dissection, but not nearly as good".

And Sacramentum is indeed a worthwhile band. Not a fan of GoI though...

Good album... but the problem is that it's a blatant copy of dissection. They copied dissection fairly good, that's because this album is good. They're not a creative band, even the song titles and lyrics are too similar. They tried to copy Storm of the light's bane in a too obvious way...

I really consider this album more than a Dissection-Tribute. The similarities are striking yet still the album is too good in its own right to simply call it a rip-off.

I somehow expected more from this album. Very good effort nonetheless. Not Dissection but close enough.
