As everyone knows, I'm a huge power metal fan. I've heard quite a bit of power metal so far this year and on reflection I would have to say this is the genre's strongest output of the last 6 months. Rip-roaring melodies that soar higher than the stars, achingly beautiful leads and harmonies betwixt Mories' exceptional vocal range and adeptness with the keyboard. Very intense, interesting and original. Some moments, like that wacky part in the middle of "Master I Am Done", are amazing. However, a lot of parts are blurred out because of the very noisy production...

Written by Oaken on 27.08.2012 at 02:10 Man I don't even want to imagine how Gnaw Their Tongues would sound with clear production. It will totally kill the atmosphere. But then again, this is one of his more noisy albums. You might want to check out An Epiphanic Vomiting Of Blood or Per Flagellum Sanguemque, Tenebras Veneramus.

Written by Oaken on 27.08.2012 at 02:20 His discography on Gnaw Their Tongues is quite massive so it's easy to get lost in his albums. From the albums I own/have heard, those two have not a cleaner, but at least clearer sound which provides with a bit more accessible sound without losing touch.

Didn't use to like this as much but I've really come around on it recently. Should be in my top 3 GTT easily now. That one-two punch of "Master I Am Done" and "A Sinister Lurking Grave" is just phenomenal. And other songs like the closer are incredible too. Really lots to love here. ...but is it better than "...For All Slaves"?
