Ever since finding about this band (this having been the first album that piqued my interest) I have yet to find a release by Lunn that fails to deliver, though it also always seems they fall just short of demonstrable brilliance. A rather strange case of constance of quality. I do love pretty much everything about this album, folk elements, Black Metal, spoken samples, it all just dovetails oh-so-nicely into the melting pan.

I think if there’s one thing that disappointed me with this album, it’s that he didn’t cover 16 Tons as well. Missed opportunity.

Just found out that Lunn has moved to Ely MN, which is a super small town only an hour or two away from me. They played shows locally last year! Crazy. I'll have to keep a better eye out so I don't miss them in the future.
