There is NO such thing as the big Teutonic 4. And to consider tankard one of the biggest 4 is TOTALLY arbitrary.

I totally agree with you about Tankard! I would consider old Sepultura as one the best Teutonic Thrash bands of all time!

Except Sepultura is about as far from Teutonic as you can possibly go. Brazil is pretty far away from Germany . . .

I agree Tankard is completely arbitrary, and I would even question Destruction, but that is probably just me.

Actually it's a free CD giveaway that comes with a German metal magazine, so no, definitely no money grab. But yeah, I don't see the sense in such a CD as the bands don't even cover thrash bands, let alone Teutonic thrash bands.

If not Tankard then who? I could only think of Holy Moses, but at least Tankard released two great album, Beast of Bourbon and The Beauty and the Beer. As for Destruction, The Antichrist and Eternal Devastation are good ones.

Lol @ ridiculous comments about Destruction and Tankard. Typically its the Big 3 of Teutonic Thrash but its not totally "arbitrary" that some people do actually consider Tankard to be apart of a bigger "Teutonic 4." Its just not as common as references to the Big 3. As for the guy who "questions" Destruction's inclusion...again...never heard of the Big 3? Kreator, Sodom and Destruction are pretty much gospel when it comes to German thrash.

Also I think Tankard's Beast of Bourbon and Chemical Invasion alone gives them merit here. Alien Revenge and Die With a Beer In Your Hand are just classic!
