In February, 2013, while Kauan was mixing the album in their hometown of Chelyabinsk, Russia, an asteroid entered the Earth's atmosphere and crashed into the area. This caused production delays and put a hold on finishing the album, until the band was certain that they and their family members had not contracted radiation poisoning. The experience of the meteor was the main inspiration for the album's cover and inner artwork. Excerpt from the band's website.

Actually musically they turned from genius (Lumikuuro) over great (Tietäjän Laulu) to bland (following albums)
while the production quality increased at the same time

I actually like the new (or should I say, old) aesthetic. Not I wasn't unsatisfied with their previous albums but I really enjoyed the way they use doom elements in their music. The album still has that post-rock vibe to it but the doomy passages and the somber ambiance really gives the album a dimension on its own.

Wow, this is awesome stuff. At least, that's my first impression after hearing the full album just now. I'm totally loving this "new" style (yes, they've gone back to their roots a bit... in other words, gone back to the sound of their best album, which is their debut), so damn relaxing.

Notable work for 2013, no doubt for it. This album is atmospheric and intense in the same moment, best part of it beginning at track III and ending at track VII.
As for what mentioned before, there is some similarity with the sound they used at their debut but it is not the of the same style/genre ofc.

No doubting this is a nice album of relaxing and stress-less music, but for me it got a little boring by the end.

Ok finally had a listen to it and indeed they are back to the roots. This one is much more like Lumikuuro (which will certainly remain unmatched) and Tietäjän Laulu, a very welcome style shift! Thanks.
