Just sounds like the same old mediocre stuff they usually do on a first listen

Really good work once again, but like with their past efforts Winterfylleth don't do anything here to reach beyond the limitations of the style they play. They play it well and deliver with a fairly energetic performance, but this feels like more of the same as opposed to a band progressing their sound. But of course, you hear people like me say this kind of thing about a lot of atmospheric black metal record I'm sure. "Green Cathedral", being the obvious centrepiece of the album, is excellent in places, whereas the title track for me felt really rushed. Aside from that, another solid performance if not spectacular.

I like this better then their previous works. The production is a bit more "balls-y"

Smart of them to cover one of Ulver's most memorable songs.
