Need a staffer to change the genre to black gaze.

Not your typical "black gaze". Kinda technical and catchy at times when the music pulls back from that dense wall of sound.

This is a pain in the ass to put genres on. There definitely are some black metal elements throughout but not a single growled or shrieked note, combined with various other influences. I actually wouldn't even call half of this album "blackgaze" despite of the atmospheric vocals; post-metal was actually a reasonable descriptor.

I find this music very uplifting. Good album.

I wouldn't class them as Black Metal. They are however self-described as "Dream Thrash" - I think that describes their style perfectly. :-)

Indeed post-metal is much more fitting.

Black metal doesn't fit at all, way too upbeat, no extreme vocals, too clean production etc. Guess it has roots in blackgaze, but it's become something else.

Thing is "blackgaze" doesn't exist in ms set of genres, so everytime they face it they combine "black metal" and "shoegaze" instead.

MS awards got me here. Refreshing.. Great! I dont care about the genre, the music is fine, it's like a journey in my ears...
