Is there any one song in this one which stands out as real Death Metal with melodic riffs???. And you guys give 8.4 rating!!!!.

How about you rate based on the quality of music and not whether it fits your imaginary genre confinement or not?

Time has changed, it's 2018 and you can't stick to your very first impression about melodeath. Otherwise there are just Heartwork and Skydancer worth listening.

Yeah you said good old spirit. Could it be that you're not so impressed with progmetal? Tho this is the lowest score so far I gave to OG.

Yeah you said good old spirit. Could it be that you're not so impressed with progmetal? Tho this is the lowest score so far I gave to OG.

Maybe there is a point in that as I am not a big fan of progmetal barring Dreamtheater. Maybe OG suits your taste and nothing wrong in that.

Man can it get more generic and boring? Snoozefest galore. Nice background music at best.

Their worst album. I hope they make such an "effortless" album again.

80s in "Gods Go First​​" was a good idea, but the rest of album has nothing to do with this. A classic OG melody in "Refining Fire", it is ok. Two more melodies in "Be the sky"(an early era Dark Tranquillity riff shines in there) and "Rest in your heart" (heavy synths - in the direction of the previous album). Except those there is nothing and I mean really nothing else to listen in this attempt.

While I enjoyed this album I must say it isn't very original and a bit by the numbers.

Hahahahaha, this joke made my day!! Bury Tomorrow is more Death Metal than OG ? They are not even close to death metal ^^

As for the album, I must say I didn't like it at first, too slow, not agressive enough. But it now turns out to be one of my favourite OG album now, very melodic, catchy and emotional.

The Frontline​​ bores me a bit, but the rest is very solid. Great album! Probably my favourite since NWS. This sound just appeals to me more than what they did on the latter 2 albums and the songs are good enough to keep my interest throughout the entire record, which is something not many bands could achieve in recent memory. Yeah it's not a masterpiece I put on just for the purpose of active listening, but I can't find a better set of songs to accompany most of my daily activities.

I guess OG decided to play it safe. Not at all a groundbreaking or even original album, but high quality and very enjoyable nonetheless.

Revisited it today for the first time in a while, actually rather enjoyed it, particularly the Over The Battlefield-->Be The Sky stretch in the middle. Not as good as Beyond/New World Shadows but definitely a step up from Grey Heavens for me

It's an okay album. Not that "boring", but not that perfect! Listenable...

On first listen this album was kind of a snooze for me. Just felt like a bunch of B-sides from Beyond or something. But returning to it now, some of these tracks are starting to grow on me.

Their best album to date in my opinion. From the music to the artwork, it is perfection.
