As I said once upon a time, the rebellious, anti conventional spirit at the heart of black metal made it destined to be an art that would one day transcend its own conventions. Great album and probably one of the best debuts of the year. Love how this thing just holds your attention throughout and all the melodies get stuck in your head (or mine at least) even in spite of it being quite layered and complex with its songwriting. Very few bands can pull that off
