Looking forward to this release.

I don't know if I can support this new direction they're taking here... Not a single song with "winter" in the title.
But seriously, this album came as a surprise to me. I feel like their last album wasn't that long ago. Then again, I picked it up a few months late.

Both preview tracks are average at best, and that considering the album has only 7 tracks and 41:54 runtime.

It's pretty much what I expected it to be, a big mash of everything that gets good at nothing. First track is brilliant though, I give him that. The rest is average at best. And only 41 minutes, like, again? Meh.

Yes it leaked some days ago. I expected something more coherent just like their previous albums. So far as Meatwolf said it's a big mash up...

Another average MDM album that on metalstorm takes too high votes...
Don't you think that it's time to start to be more objective?!

Some tracks are similar to tracks from the previous release, probably the weakest release i heard from Tuomas Saukkonen....

great production, good rifs, a cool cover art, interesting lyrics, it feels very wolfheart, and i enjoyed it a lot, just not so original so i give it an 8. It's high quality MDM nonetheless.

Winterborn still the only one I've liked.
I actually think he needs to pass on vocals to someone else. He's a bit monotonous now and he's almost saturated the market with all this samey material.

My thoughts since long. Remember that guy who did guest vocals on the last BSA album, Mynni Luukkainen? He absolutely destroys Toumas and his growls in comparison.

I find the album interesting so far as it offers a specific blend of melodic death metal with melodic black and doom metal traits. I hear fragments of his previous work (RoutaSielu, Black Sun Aeon). The album is raw but, at the same time, sophisticated. Solid production as with Tyhjyys.
That being said, interesting does not always equal "high quality" or "memorable". From the four albums so far, only Tyhjyys I actually really dig from Wolfheart. And that is coming from a huge fan of his work. COTBL is a step in the right direction, just with too little original musical ideas.
I am looking forward to the next releases. I am sure Tuomas will nail it again eventually.

Amaranthe won MS Year Awards for best Industrial/Electronic Metal release so I guess 'objectivism' here is nonexistent.

Have recently bought all 3 albums but I cannot get into this one at the moment. It has good times and ideas but most of the time you won't even know what you are actually listening to :/ Should I hear one of these songs I'm pretty sure I would not recongize them. Shadow World and Tyjjjryyyssysy (or someting) are very good but this one is a disappointment to me.

What I mean is: when I wrote the post the average vote was around 8.8.
Look at the all-time ranking and tell me if it could be objective.
You like very much an album like this? Give 8.
You hate it? Give 4.
An album like this cannot deserve 10 (as it cannot deserve 1).
People gives too high votes (and sometimes too low votes) for fanboyism and the wish to push the average vote where they think the album deserves.
That's subjective, not objective.

Yep, 12 votes for ten. IT'S A SHAME FOR THOSE FANS!
joke
For me that votes are only opportunity to show what I like. Nothing more.
And overall never will be determinant of quality

Saw these guys live with Carach Angren and Mors Principium Est. While Carach Angren stole the stage show by far, Wolfheart was the best musical act that translated really well on stage. I was able to take in their entire sound, this big wall of folky death metal that just hit me like a ton of bricks. It was perfect, and I consequently bought this album, which is in my top 10 for the year.

I already saw Omnium Gatherum once when they opened for Dark Tranquillity and Amon Amarth. Not only the gig was excellent but then the guys wandered in the concert corridors, drinking a beer, taking pictures, chatting with us. Cannot wait to see them again ! Of course Dark Tanquility were killers as always (but we left in the middle of the set of Amon Amarth, too booooring).

Someone above quoted that wolfheart is another MDM band with a weak album but high rating from MS , which I feel is true. This is no single which is memorable and I repeated around 7 times....naaahhh.... previous one was really good.

In the beginning I was made of clay. Then I bit the apple and they changed me to metal 🤘

Mediocre. But "Defender" and especially "Warfare" stand out. The rest is just generic or boring or uninspired. Was it so important to release after only a year a new album...?

This band will only ever be "wolf fart" to me. The opening track here was very cool.
