After many years of unimpressive (very politely worded) releases either with Queensrÿche or with Operation: Mindcrime, Geoff Tate finally participates in an album that is actually good.

Wow, classic Queensryche sound is on 11. Mularoni has done it.

A very pleasant surprise, a very (unexpectedly) good album.

Mularoni isn't joining him on the second one. Apparently Tate was a total dick whilst making the first album.

This is not good news, that Sweet Oblivion album was really good and the best I have heard from Tate since Promised Land. Where did you see that Mularoni is not going to be on the new one?

He is not mentioned in the news release by Frontiers and they love him. He stated in his Twitter after the first album that Tate had been impossible to work with and Tate wanted to make a hip hop record!?

I see.. I guess I should lower my expectations then.

Some comments state that the interview is fake and I also find it a little weird, even if I'm aware of Tate's history and not being the nicest guy to work with.

"Mickey Holm
This interview is fake. I just read a German interview with Simone, published just before this one. There he states NO problems working with Geoff, and even admits that Geoff wrote the lyrics and vocal lines for some of the songs also. he is also open to playing live with Geoff in the future.

Don't believe everything you read "

"Daniel Kallus
This reads like a completely fake interview. It's as if the writer cherry-picked negative tid bits from Geoff's past and put them in Mularoni's mouth. There is no way you could put "hip hop" vocals over these musical tracks. And given that the music is one guitar trading off with a keyboard already, I highly doubt that Geoff would try to throw on random keyboard sounds. I call complete BS that this is just fake news.

It hss to be fake. The guy stopped replying to emails and just sent vocals recorded on the bus the end?
Did he do the music video on the bus also???

its possible he had some ideas, added some extra tracks and sent over a rough mix, like, "hey, what do you think of this?". and eventually he wouldve sent his tracks to the producer. tate wouldnt have been the one doing the final mix. in the end, i would guess they both had to sign off on it, either that or they already had a contract in place with a significant penalty for backing out.

so maybe tate got pissed, said "whatever" and threw down some vocals on the bus in 10 minutes. if he had a decent mic its totally possible to record something decent just about anywhere. he does the least amount possible and fulfills his contract"
