Biography
Nox Doloris is the sympho black/death metal band from St. Petersburg (Russian Federation), It was founded in 2010 by Konstantin Timofeev (guitar, vocals) and Alexander Ivanov (bass), on the ruins of the defunct nowadays black metal band Omen. In that year the band released it's first demo consisted of 4 songs and completed it's line-up with Dmitry Likhachev (drums), Igor Shlyabin (guitar) and Polina Ryzhikova (vocals). Taking the current at the time electro sounding metal with synthetic symphonic keys and undertones the group published it's another online demo release (LP) containing 10-tracks, and played it's first concert. In the same year Alexander Ivanov and Polina Ryzhikova left the band.
In 2011 the band headed for a more somber and heavy death metal sound moving away from electronic influences and toward sympho black/death metal. In the same year the new online release (EP) "Sacrifice Me", received positive response on various thematic web-sites. In the same year band played a series of concerts in St. Petersburg supported by session musicians.
The year 2012 was marked by the first physical release "Purgatory" (EP) on label "Firstborn Chaos Productions". The position of bassist was filled by Eugeniy Lukonin. In the same year a frontman Konstantin Timofeev leaved the group for reasons beyond. Have been lost the leader, the band did not ceased to exist and was reformed with guitarist Vitaly Buylov and vocalist Leonid Shaulin. In summer "Nox Doloris" took part in the "BLACK MASS" cult festival in Moscow along with such famous russian symphonic metal bands as "Stigmatic Chorus", "Ashen Light", "Satarial" and "Arcanorum Astrum", and played at the autumn metal season opening fest in St. Petersburg as well.
At the moment the band is recording the first full-length album, tentatively scheduled for winter 2013.
