NICK HELLFORT is a band formed and led by TOKYO BLADE and DOMAIN-Singer Nicolaj Ruhnow taking the chance to express all his musical and personal influences with one driving vision:“Fuck all the rules,‘cos as long as it’s feeling good it cant be bad!” The first demo-tracks ("Crusaders", "The Messenger" written back in 2007) represented the first step into the right direction: Heavy Metal with a strong influence from 70’s Prog- Rock-Era without excluding modernism.
But by using the apt quotation: “nothing last’s forever, but the certainty of change”, the sound of NICK HELLFORT has changed since the first couple of tracks into: Metal with pure intensity incl. more versatility! Progressive modern Metal with a classy attitude meets singing and songwriting at the highest level.
Because of his commitments to TOKYO BLADE since July 2010, Nicolaj had been forced to push all CD-Release-Activities regarding to NICK HELLFORT aside, and postponed releasing the almost finished debute “The Mask Within”. It turned out being a wise desicion, as all experiences Nicolaj made with his bandmates and friends of TOKYO BLADE on the road needed to take place in his work, so he re-recorded many vocals tracks, to give "The Mask Within" a wider range musically & emotionally!
“haste makes waste”: after a long period of time and many lineup-changes since 2007 it was done: “The Mask Within” was released 01. March 2013 via Sonic Revolution / Fastball Music and distributed by Soulfood, Nonstopmusic (CH), Rock Inc. (NL) and Believe Digital! Nick:"Thanx to the incredible help from Producer Arne Lakenmacher (High Gain Recording Studios - www.Arne-Lakenmacher.com) and fantastic multi instrumentalist Lady Catman (www.LadyCatman.com) who helped me making a dream come true!"
The Live-Journey took the actual lineup playing in Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium & France, pushed by their passionated and growing fanbase and pushed by many extremely overwhelmed reactions from the media! Beside playing live as much as possible, NICK HELLFORT is in preparation for the successor of "The Mask Within".
