Biography
"The weak and pathetic, these are mine enemies and I have come to o destroy them...." The entity that is Empyreal Destroyer is the direct result of an understanding between its two founding and current members; the musical force force that is Shadow ,the deep lyrical intricacies of Cyclonis coupled with a personal history that goes back over a decade.
At the dusk of Death metal Stand Aside, in 2006... Cyclonis and Shadow formed Empyreal Destroyer as a studio project; mixing elements of Avant Garde Black Metal, Progressive, Classical music and more.
The first work, Chaos Torrent was welcome by much underground acclaim, and interview requests and worldwide radio play on over 100 stations. This was followed in 2007 by the Destroyer release. Shadow and Cyconis continued to write and would create an albums worth of material before there was a call for a live line up.
In 2007 live members were recruited for a tour of the UK closing the end of year with the band being voted best unsigned act of 2007 and making no.7 in the best new comer category... Following Shadows departure... live shows in 2008 including Bloodstock alongside Dimmu Borgir, Iced Earth, At the Gates, Kataklysm and more... needless to say the band was very well anticipated and very well received. Various interviews were conducted following which saw more shows alongside Hecate Enthroned and Amon Amarth.
In 2009 was a stale year for the band with the album from 2006 still remaining unreleased and a few demos of new songs being written and then abandoned. Cyclonis' departure, in 2010 saw the band coming to an eventual stop with EDs last live show being made up completely of live session members. The band was dead by the end of the year with the original album from Shadow and Cyclonis still unreleased.
In Winter 2014 Cyclonis and Shadow began talks of releasing an album in 2015... under their rightful name, Empyreal Destroyer. July 20 2015 saw the release of Curse All Creation and Empyreal Destroyer returning to it's roots as a studio only band with the original two founding members.
What happens from here will not be forced. Be sure to check out Shadows solo work, "Shadow Venger" and his previous work in "Enkelination/Angel Nation". Cyclonis is also currently writing for "Act of Entropy."
