Biography
Premortal Breath is modern metal with a plethora of influences. All boiled down into melodic yet heavy form. Enticing guitar leads, huge choruses, roaring drums, groovy basslines and much more are only parts of the bigger picture that is Premortal Breath. The multilayered lyrics deal with topics such as terrorism, psychosis and the pitfalls of modern society.
Premortal Breath was founded in 2010 by Thomas “Tommy” Greulich (vocals) and Thomas “Potti” Pettrich (drums). A first line-up was completed by Armin Rosen (guitar) and Tobias “Tobbe” Eymer (bass). Two songs were recorded shortly after at Beat-House-Studio (Rauenberg/Germany).
After a lot of line-up changes the next stable line-up saw the addition of Dominik “Domme” Eymer (bass) and Sebastian “Seb” Herbold (guitar). While Tobias had switched to guitar in the meantime, drummer and vocalist were still the same. In 2014 the band entered the studio of Logischdenker Records (Römerberg/Germany) and recorded their first album “They”.
The line-up stayed consistent until 2016 when founding member and drummer Thomas “Potti” Pettrich left the band to spend more time with his family. Some time passed until Andreas “Andy” Reichard joined the band permanently as new drummer, having been serving as fill-in drummer in the meantime. Full of energy and creativity the band entered Rolf Munkes’ Empire Studios (Benzheim/Germany) in 2018 to record their second major release “Monsters”.
2021 saw the parting of ways between the band and longtime bassist Dominik “Domme” Eymer and the arrival of Mathias “Matze” Ruppel as the new man for the rumble. The pandemic had halted a lot of plans, so the band was stoked to be able to return to Empire Studios and record the third album “Of Angels And Wolves” in 2022.
