Biography
Count De Nocte was formed under a different name in 1992. At the beginning Count De Nocte was a four piece. Autumn 1994 second guitar player ( J. Orpana) joined in to give more opportunities and depth into the sound and band´s name was changed to Count De Nocte. Under that name band recorded it´s first demo "Nos Omnes Una Manet" and got signed to Mad Lion Records, Poland in 1996.
After that band members were doing compulsory military service and that time was quite a quiet for Count De Nocte. Next step was to record a MCD for Mad Lion and that appeared in 1998. By that time Count De Nocte has got enough reputation in the world wide underground scene and the band went to it´s first European tour with Krabathor (CZE) and Yattering (POL) in March 1999.
After that tour keyboard player A. Aronen joined the band and they recorded first full-length album called "Carpe Noctum". It was also released through Mad Lion Records and was published in 2001. Then bass player J. Salonen left the band due to a problems with traveling to a different town to do music. Autumn 2001 new bass player joined in (A. Ahonen) and the band moved to Tampere. After that it was time for a lots of work for new material and in autumn 2002 A. Aronen left and was replaced after a while with a new synth player A. Pajuoja.
Year 2003 started well and after lots of rehearsing Count De Nocte entered studio to record their 2nd full lenght Luctisonus Dolor. After couple of months band also started their 2nd European tour with Neglected Fields (Lat) in March-April and played even in Belorussia, Minsk which was amazing, but due to problems in customs they couldn´t leave the country and couple of gigs in Poland had to be canceled. After the tour J. Pajuoja left the band because he wanted to focus 100% to his own projects.
New synth player was found in summer 2003 and J. Korsumäki joined in. November Count De Nocte played in their hometown Tampere for the first time in many years and also spring 2004 another gig. Then vocalist T. Nieminen moved to Switzerland and problems begun.
There´s not that much to tell about 2004. Count De Nocte was silent and members focused to their other projects.
2005 vocalist moved to Ireland and we did couple of new songs, but still this odd silence lasted until November when Mad Lion released Luctisonus Dolor. Count De Nocte was at last starting to awake from it´s hibernation. Then another drawback struck, when in January 2006 J. Orpana left the band due to lack of motivation to continue anymore.
Replacement was found immediately and J. Korsumäki started to play guitar. In summer 2006 our long lasting vocalist T. Nieminen left the band and now it was time to decide whether we continue or not.
After long discussions we thought that Count De Nocte will continue and working with new material begun with good motivation.
In autumn 2007 Aatu Ketola joined in as a new vocalist.
