Biography

Formerly known as Desecrator, the group disbanded when drummer Sam Sheppard joined 8 Foot Sativa, New Zealand's premier metal band. Later, growler Matt Sheppard also joined 8 Foot Sativa, however in June 2005 the brothers left 8 Foot Sativa to reforge Sinate. Joining them would be 8FS guitar tech Sean Parkinson, and former Reprobate member, Antony "Colonel" Folwell.

In August 2005 they recorded their debut full-length album 'Beyond Human' at York St Studios in Auckland, releasing it the following month to rave reviews. It went on to reach #6 on the NZ Independent music charts, with three video clips being produced. Later in 2005 Sinate embarked on an 8-date tour of NZ to promote the debut.

With the arrival of 2006, the band kicked off a 17-date headlining tour of NZ with local acts supporting. After the tour's end in March they flew to Vasteras, Sweden to record their second album, 'Violent Ambitions'. The album was engineered and produced by Pelle Saether at Underground Studio. Whilst in the Scandinavian country, they headlined a show with bands from across Sweden and received radio and newspaper press. Sinate unleashed 'Violent Ambitions' in New Zealand in October 2006.

Sinate then went to Brisbane, Australia to play with local legends State of Integrity for 3 dates including the popular Hellfest, before flying back to NZ for a 6-date national tour with State of Integrity and Christchurch's Tainted.

Sinate played the Main Stage at Auckland's premier summer rock festival, the Big Day Out in January 2007 before heading off on another national tour which included 23 dates, and supported such acts as Suffocation, God Forbid and the almighty Slayer!

Plans for 2008 include touring the USA, Europe and Japan as well as releasing their third album.
