When North Texas metal pioneers Warlock disbanded in 1985, guitarist Rick Perry and Eric Roy formed a new band which would soon infect the underground music scene with a highly corrosive blast of toxic thrash: Gammacide. Joined by drummer Jamey Milford and vocalist Varnam Ponville, Gammacide released a 5 song demo in 1987 which made the band a cult favorite amongst the fanzine and tape trading metallers of the time. Scott Shelby joined in 1988 as a second guitarist, thus doubling Perry's already crushing guitar assault.

In 1989 Gammacide released their one and only scar upon the metal world, Victims Of Science - originally on vinyl and cassette only via Wild Rags Records. This album impressed many with it's ballistic speed-freak fury and super-tight violent attack. However it was released in a year when thrash metal was at an all-time peak, and in fact the thrash wave was about to play itself out. As a result Victims Of Science was somewhat unknown to all but the most insane thrash-aholics for many years.

Gammacide broke up in 1992 after recording one more four song demo, but in the late 90's and early 2000's the internet gave new exposure to Gammacide and created many more new fans of Texas metal's most intense thrash experience. Finally, after thirteen years of inactivity, the Victims Of Science LP was reissued on CD in 2005, and the band briefly reunited for a Texas tour to commemorate 20 years of Toxic Metal.

The following year, Perry and Shelby joined forces with Rigor Mortis vocalist Bruce Corbitt and formed Texas Metal Alliance, which was eventually renamed Warbeast and recorded their debut CD Krush The Enemy for Phil Anselmo's Housecore Records.
