Cruciamentum, meaning "torture" in Latin, seemed a suitably sinister banner for which to form the band beneath. The aim of Cruciamentum is to play dark, claustrophobic death metal influenced by bands such as Incantation, Demigod, Abhorrence, Rottrevore, Necros Christos, Immolation, and Morbid Angel.
Having existed since 2005, Cruciamentum finally solidified their line-up in late 2008 with original guitarist D.L. (ex-Imindain) taking over the recently vacated vocalist spot, joined by B.C. (Deceptor, ex-Dark Forest) on bass and D.B-H. (Grave Miasma, Indesinence, Adorior) on drums.
The band released their second demo, Convocation Of Crawling Chaos and were joined by R.C. on guitar prior to their live debut. Writing is now underway for an MLP, which should be released towards the end of 2010 on Nuclear Winter Records.
