Biography
With an unrelenting determination and a focused hard work ethic, Tides Of Virtue have since their inception in June of 2008 shown total dedication and unrivalled passion in their music, live shows and supporters. In the space of only two years they have played just over 200 shows in the UK and Belgium, completed three UK tours and a Belgium weekender, visited Studio 6 on three separate occasions and played the reputed Metalfest 3, Camden Curse and Hellfire Festivals. This all along with their signing to UK Independent Label Transcend Records in late 2009 and being fortunate enough to share the stage with acts such as Misery Signals, Shadows Fall and Sworn Enemy.
Tides deliver a tight and yet ferociously devastating live show which anyone who has bared witness, will testify to. With a combination of fast paced aggressive riffs, technically savage drumming, crushing breakdowns, twin guitar harmonies, intricate solos and hellish vocals, Tides Of Virtue will leave new and old audiences remembering their name and music. With some line up changes along the way, the current line is the strongest yet and consists of 5 dudes passionate about their music. Nick Jupp (Vocals), James Otero, Paul Lawford, (Guitars) and James Sweeting (Bass) and Elliot Philpot (Drums)
"Malevolence" their debut album released on May 31st 2010 is a more mature take on their music, with a darker touch, yet still retaining their heavy, aggressive and epic sound. "Malevolence" once released received many positive online reviews along with a 7/10 review in the national UK music Magazine Rock Sound.
In the two years since forming, Tides Of Virtue are proud and honoured to have had the opportunity to share the stage with: Shadows Fall (US), Misery Signals (US), Sworn Enemy (US), For The Fallen Dreams (US), Confession (AUS), Born From Pain (NL), Your Demise, The Number Twelve Looks Like You (US) , Viatrophy, Sylosis, It Prevails (US), This Is Colour, Azriel, Annotations Of An Autopsy, The Argent Dawn, The Eyes Of A Traitor, Postmortem Promises, Ligeia (US), Evita, Shadow Law, Days Of Betrayal (BEL) and Random Conflict.
