The band was formed in late 2006 by Gabriella (Gabee-vocals) and Csaba (Csabee-guitars, composing), in hope of creating a slightly heavier, yet melodic approach in the female fronted metal world. After a few months of song writing and releasing a self produced demo, in 2007 the band was given the opportunity to debut on the Gothica Fest 6.66, and to share stage and play together with world renowned artists/bands such as Deathstars, Mortiis, Battlelore or Mandragora Scream and the biggest names from the Hungarian Gothic music scene.

In 2008 they recorded their first debut album and spent several months sending promos to various online and printed gothic magazines, as well as record labels around the world with the intention finding a record deal and to let the media know about the new name, VelvetSeal. The response from the media has been extremely positive, and their promotional material has been reviewed by various magazines/webzines from DE/USA/UK/NL/MEX/FR rating them very high; mostly all above 80%. This all together earned the band a record deal with Dark Balance Records to release their 9 track debut, Lend Me Your Wings, worldwide in May 2009.

Their music could best be described as Symphonic Dark Metal. The epic symphonic arrangements, and synth grooves accompanied by heavy, modern riffs, and softened by the clean beautiful vocals of Gabee make their music a unique blend of gothic and dark metal that will hopefully soon be welcomed by the fans around the world.

As of 2011, the band signed a deal with 2WILD4 Management & Booking Agency and began recording their second full-length album.
